Whonet training for AMR surveillance sentinel sites by NIH

A one day virtual orientation and basic training on WHONET software has been conducted on 28th May 2020 for the new AMR surveillance sentinel sites (including Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi, Nishtar Hospital Multan, CMH Multan, Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences Muzaffarabad). The training was conducted by NIH in collaboration with John Stelling (Co-founder and co-director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance USA). The participants were briefed about the concept of the software, followed by detailed lecture on whonet software (including its installation, data file making, data entry, variable list in the software and data analysis). Subsequent hands on training are planned for the sentinel sites for strengthening the Pakistan AMR Surveillance System.
