NIH has successfully launched the first short course for civilian public health officials to transform them into disease detectives. The first part of the course was held at National Institute of Health, Islamabad from 23rd October 2017 to 27th October 2017. NIH is conducting this course with the technical collaboration of Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP). It was launched by Brigadier Dr. Aamer Ikram, Executive Director NIH and Director FELTP. Representatives from CDC, USA and Pakistan, were also present at the occasion. More than 25 participants from different institutions of the twin cities alongside Pakistan Army and Pakistan Navy participated in the course. Participants are being trained to act as frontline force for disease surveillance and outbreak response in their respective institutions.
