BIRD FLU

Alert

issued to provinces/stakeholders for Preventive vigilance as per following four SOPs (Sr.No.1-4)

National Committee to control avian influenza.

Secretaries of the Ministries of Health, Food, agriculture and live stock, Director General (Health), Executive Director NIH, Surgeon General Pakistan Army, Additional Secretaries of Ministries of Finance, Information, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Provincial Secretaries for Health and Livestock, Chief of Public Health Diagnostic Laboratories at NIH, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, and presidents of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association and the Pakistan Pharma Bureau.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) :

Following Standard Operating Procedures were developed with joint collaboration of the Public Health Laboratories Division (PHLD), National Institute of Health, Islamabad (NIH), World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Infectious Disease Surveillance and Alert System, Johns Hopkins University (GIDSAS).

  1. Collection, Storage & Transportation of Specimens from Suspected Cases of Influenza (Avian Influenza).

  2. Guidelines for Prevention and Control of Human Cases of Avian Influenza Disease (Bird Flu)

  3. Surveillance and Rapid Response For Human Cases of Avian Influenza Disease (Bird Flu)

  4. Guidelines for clinical management of bird flu (avian influenza).
